United Way Concludes Annual Giving Campaign

While December 7 marked the official close of the 2007 campaign to benefit United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County and our greater Carlisle community, we are still accepting gifts of support. Gifts large and small, from individuals and corporations mean much and have a significant impact on the lives of others.

With most company campaigns concluded and results tallied we’re pleased to recognize some outstanding performers who made significant gains over last year’s giving.

Among our ten highest contributing accounts Giant Food Stores, LLC was the largest contributor giving a total of $106,522 which represents more than a 5% increase over last year.  Employees from Dickinson College collectively gave in excess of $50,000 while the County of Cumberland increased their giving by more than 31% and contributed a total of $35,821.

Other companies and organizations to report outstanding gains include Frog Switch & Manufacturing Company, Cumberland Design Build, Carlisle Area School District and South Middleton School District, Kohl’s, R H Donnelley, Turner Hydraulics, Sadler Health, F&M Trust, Allen Distribution and M&T Bank.

Not to be outdone, employees of the 27 partner agencies who receive funding from United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County increased their collective giving by more than $5,000!

If you have not yet had the opportunity to give, you may do so today.
