Since launching this program on November 2, United Way has provided funds for emergency heating assistance to nearly 52 families, helping them to maintain heat in their homes. To ensure this program remains available through the 2010 heating season, we need your help.

You can support this program by counting your spare change at any Metro Bank, Magic Money Machine. Deposit your counted coin in United Way's HEAT CARLISLE account (paper money accepted too). It may cost up to $300 for just one family to maintain heat in their home.

CAMPAIGN

The annual United Way campaign officially concluded on December 4. Please know that we are still accepting gifts of support. We will not report final campaign results until our January 19 Campaign Celebration. To take advantage of currenet year tax deductions, donors may want to make their pledge of support by December 31, 2009. Current year campaign pledges are payable through December 31, 2010. You may make your pledge securely on line or complete and return a campaign pledge card.

As you may know , we held our campaign raffle prize drawing on Wednesday, December 9. Most who contributed at least $130 to the annual campaign effort chose to enter into the drawing. The following were randomly selected and have won a campaign prize. Prizes made possible through donations and sponsorship, including gifts from Carlisle Regional Medical Center, M&T Bank and Giant Food Stores, LLC.

The following prizewinners are invited to attend our campaign celebration. They know only that they won "a prize". they will be introduced and receive their prize at the January 19 celebration. Join us on January 19 to hear more about the work at United Way and to congratulate our donors and the following prizewinners.

Local restaurateur, Jeff Goss will share the value and importance of giving back, community service and philanthropy from a business perspective.

You'll have the oopportunity to learn more about YLS, what it means to LIVE UNITED and how you can help grow and support this important program of United Way. You'll also be able to sample some fine MCP's food and brews on tap.
